At Integrated Therapeutic Massage, massage techniques are integrated and customized based on your health history, soft tissue assessment and consultation about your needs and goals.

Types of massage include:

Active Isolated Stretching (AIS): Using the principle of reciprocal inhibition, AIS combines active motion by clients with therapist assistance to engage in systemic stretches throughout the body, affecting muscles, connective tissues and the nervous system.

Deep Tissue Massage: Slow therapeutic work using a variety of techniques to engage the body’s deep muscular and connective tissues in order to release chronic muscle tension associated with pain.

Neuromuscular Massage: Focused work on trigger points: aggravated areas within tight muscles and their fascia (the surrounding connective tissue). Trigger points are usually sore and tender to the touch and may also refer pain to other sites due to muscle shortening and adhesions.

Pre-natal Massage:
Massage techniques to support a woman’s physical and emotional well-being during pregnancy.

Sports Massage: Massage techniques, typically involving stretching, that vary based on the type of sport and whether an athlete is preparing for or recovering from an event.

Swedish Massage: A system of long strokes, kneading and friction techniques on the more superficial layers of the muscles.
